Dr. Jon Stauff – Director
Jon Stauff oversees education abroad and international student services at TCNJ and develops and administers exchange programs with the support of the TCNJ faculty. He has served as a member-leader of NAFSA: Association of International Educators in a variety of capacities at the national and regional level and has received grants from Fulbright, the US Department of Education, IREX, the German Academic Exchange Service, and the Institute of International Education. A historian of modern Germany, Stauff holds a PhD from the University at Buffalo (SUNY) and an AB from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Melissa DiMeglio, Study Abroad Advisor
Melissa DiMeglio advises students seeking study abroad programs – including all semester, summer, and faculty-led programs. She has accumulated experiences in all aspects of international education – including admissions, the teaching of English as a Second Langauge, international student services, and immigration counseling – throughout her career in the field. She has held positions at large public universities in Illinois and California and brings a great combination of knowledge and enthusiasm to TCNJ. She holds a master’s degree in international education development from Teachers College, Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Italian from Cornell University. Matthew Zielsdorf, Program Coordinator
Matthew Zielsdorf has a number of duties in the area of education abroad at TCNJ, including study abroad advising and working together with faculty to develop short-term study abroad programs. He also assists with international student services when needed. His work experience includes the Americorps VISTA program as well as a number of positions in student affairs at St. Edward’s and Southwestern universities in Texas, his home state. Matthew holds a BA degree in international studies and German from Southwestern University and is a master’s degree candidate at the SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont. He studied abroad at the University of Guanajuato in Mexico, the University of Giessen in Germany and the University of Graz in Austria. E-mail him at zielsdom@tcnj.edu
Shannon McCray, Graduate Assistant
Shannon McCray ’06, a graduate student in counselor education at TCNJ, coordinates the application process for our study abroad students. Shannon has extensive international experience, living abroad as a child and serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mozambique after her 2006 graduation from the College. She combines service with her international travel and enjoys sharing her insights with our undergraduate students. In additional to her bachelor’s degree from TCNJ in criminology and justice studies, Shannon holds a master’s degree in African-American Studies from Columbia University.
